Win MBC 2005-2006 Senior Team Championship!

September 23rd, 2006 - Joe Wheeler and Guy Huff receive a Skeeter SX180 with a Yamaha 115 from Tempe Marine owner Scott McGraw after winning the MBC Senior Team Championship at Bartlett Lake this weekend. This was Wheeler's and Huff's second, consecutive MBC Team Championship as the team won the 2004-2005 Classic as well! The team was in 2nd place on day 1 with 13.15 lbs and on day 2 bagged a 12.24 lb limit for a total of 25.39 lbs and the win. In addition to the boat they won $1,128 in option money. Doug Pingree and Paul Koeberle rocketed from 20th place on day 1 to 2nd place overall with the largest sack of the tournament. Their day 2 weight of 13.44 gave them a 2 day total of 22.99 lbs for 2nd place and $1,869 in option and prize money. Tim Jacobs and Jim Furr finished in 3rd with a total of 22.28 lbs. The team of Jeff Guerrette and Brent Warner finished 4th with 22.19 lbs followed by Paul Matthews and Ron Chambers in 5th with 21.06 lbs. Clayton Ross and Guy Zamudio

Darren Bowman Wins MBC Pro-AM Amateur Championship!

September 16th, 2006 - Darren Bowman pictured above on the right, captured the MBC Amateur Championship at Lake Pleasant weighing in a combined total of 22.86 lbs for the two days and cashed checks totaling $833! Bowman was paired on day 1 with Pro Doug Pingree and they weighed 15.88 lbs for the day one lead aided by Bowman's 5.80 lb hog which was the overall 2nd big bass on the AM side. On day 2, Bowman fished with Pro Mark Lester and they managed 6.98 pounds. Certainly a much different day for Bowman than day 1, but enough for him to take 1st place. Jason White on the left in the picture above, finished a close second with 22.17 lbs followed by Bob Weist in 3rd place with 21.94lbs. Bob Lorentz caught the big bass of the Amateurs, and the whole championship, a 7.02 lber on day 1. Click Here for full results.

Pete Willis Wins MBC Pro-AM Pro Championship!

September 16th, 2006 - Pete Willis pictured above on the left, won the MBC Pro Championship this weekend at Lake Pleasant with a two day total of 22.33 lbs and pocketed $1535! Willis teamed with Don Peyton on day 1 for 10.06 lbs and partnered with Bob Weist, who caught the 5.16 lb kicker, on day 2 for 12.27 lbs. Pro Mike Bidak, on the right above, finished in 2nd place with 21.97 lbs for $837 and Pro Bill Townsley took 3rd with 20.53 lbs and collected $806. Big fish for the Pros was a 5.09 lber caught by Dennis Cleary on day 2. Click Here for full results.

Cunninghams win MBC Couples Championship!

September 16th, 2006 - Debra and Victor Cunningham won the MBC Couples Championship and $760 this weekend at Lake Pleasant with a two day total of 19.95 lbs. They were in 2nd after day 1 with 12.20 lbs and weighed a limit of 7.75 lbs on day 2 to win by a 2 pound margin. Richard and Mary Hubenthal had a two day total of 17.90 lbs for second place and $660. Richard and Josephine Rojas took 3rd with 13.03 lbs and collected $358. Big fish for the Couples Championship weekend was the 4.08 lber caught by the Hubenthals. Click Here for full results.

Reese Randall on the left holds the Open's 4.83 lb Big Fish and on the right Tom Dwyer with the Open's second largest bass, a 3.90 LM.
